Introduction

Indian GST Invoice ("the App") provides GST-compliant invoice generation services — including automatic CGST/SGST/IGST calculation, HSN/SAC code assignment, branded PDF invoices, and GSTR-1 export — to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access the following types of information from your Shopify account:

• Order data (order ID, line items, quantities, prices, and tax amounts)
• Customer data (name, billing and shipping address, email, and phone number)
• Store information (store name, registered address, GSTIN, and legal name)
• Product and variant data (titles, HSN/SAC codes, and GST rate configurations)
• Tax settings used to calculate CGST, SGST, and IGST splits

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information directly from you after installation:

• Your name, email address, and billing information to manage your subscription
• Your GSTIN, legal business name, and registered address for inclusion on invoices
• Custom invoice preferences such as logo uploads, template selections, and SMTP email settings
• Any messages you send us via live chat or email support

We collect personal information directly from you and through your Shopify account, as well as using the following technologies: "Cookies" are data files placed on your device that maintain session state and preferences. "Log files" track actions occurring on the App and collect data including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, and date/time stamps. "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you interact with the App's dashboard.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect to provide the Service and operate the App. Specifically, we use this information to:

• Generate and deliver GST-compliant PDF invoices to your customers via email and WhatsApp
• Calculate accurate CGST, SGST, and IGST based on customer shipping addresses
• Assign HSN/SAC codes to products and variants
• Enable bulk invoice downloads and GSTR-1, Tally, and Zoho export reports
• Communicate with you about your account and the Service
• Provide customer support
• Improve and optimise the App
• Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations under Indian GST law

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your personal information only with the third parties necessary to provide the Service:

• Shopify Inc. as required to read and process your store data
• Cloud infrastructure providers used to store and process invoice data
• Email delivery services used to send automated invoices to your customers
• WhatsApp Business API providers if you use the WhatsApp invoice feature
• Payment processors to handle subscription billing

We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your order and invoice data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with Indian GST record-keeping requirements, which typically require a minimum of 6 years. If you uninstall the App, you may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Data required for legal or regulatory compliance may be retained for the period mandated by applicable law.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Additionally, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to India, in order to provide the Service.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
