Introduction

Xenon Smart AI Cart And Upsell ("the App") provides a smart cart drawer and AI-powered product recommendation service — including upsell and cross-sell offers, frequently bought together bundles, free shipping and discount progress bars, and cart-based promotions — to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access the following types of information from your Shopify account:

• Store information (store name, domain, currency, and Shopify admin settings)
• Product, variant, and collection data (titles, images, prices, inventory, and tags) used to generate recommendations
• Order data (order ID, line items, quantities, and prices) used to learn which products are purchased together
• Cart and checkout data (cart contents, cart value, and applied discounts)
• Theme data (to render the cart drawer and upsell widgets on your storefront)
• Discount and shipping settings used to power progress bars and cart-based offers

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information directly from you after installation:

• Your name, email address, and billing information to manage your subscription
• App configuration preferences such as cart drawer styling, upsell rules, bundle selections, and offer thresholds
• Any messages you send us via live chat or email support

When a shopper visits your storefront, the App also processes limited storefront activity — such as the products viewed, items added to or removed from the cart, and whether a recommendation was clicked or accepted — in order to select and display relevant offers. This activity is associated with an anonymous cart or session identifier and is not used to build advertising profiles.

We collect personal information directly from you and through your Shopify account, as well as using the following technologies: "Cookies" are data files placed on your device that maintain session state and App preferences. "Log files" track actions occurring on the App and collect data including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, and date/time stamps. "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you interact with the App's dashboard.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect to provide the Service and operate the App. Specifically, we use this information to:

• Render the smart cart drawer and upsell widgets on your storefront
• Generate AI-powered upsell, cross-sell, and frequently bought together recommendations
• Display free shipping bars, discount progress bars, and cart-based promotions
• Apply your custom styling, offer rules, and threshold preferences
• Report on cart performance, offer impressions, and revenue attributed to the App
• Communicate with you about your account and the Service
• Provide customer support
• Improve and optimise the App and the quality of its recommendations

Automated Recommendations and AI Processing

The App uses automated systems and machine learning models to rank and select the products shown as upsells, cross-sells, and bundles. These models are trained on aggregated product, order, and cart data from your store. We do not use your store data to train models for the benefit of other merchants without your consent, and recommendations do not involve any decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects for shoppers.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your personal information only with the third parties necessary to provide the Service:

• Shopify Inc. as required to read and process your store, product, order, and theme data
• Cloud infrastructure providers used to store your App configuration and process cart data
• AI and machine learning service providers used to generate product recommendations
• Payment processors to handle subscription billing

We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your App configuration, cart analytics, and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Anonymous cart and session records used to generate recommendations are retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. If you uninstall the App, you may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Data required for legal or regulatory compliance may be retained for the period mandated by applicable law.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Additionally, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to India, in order to provide the Service.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
